Puerto Rico Mission Prayer Requests

Dear Ministry Partners, Greetings in the name of our Lord.

We sincerely thank you for remembering our family with love and for partnering with us through your prayers and support.

Since January, my wife, Gyeongseon (Park) Kim, and I have been preparing with students in prayer for a spring break short-term mission trip to Puerto Rico. While continuing our campus ministry and preparing for this mission, we also had concerns about whether the necessary financial support would be fully provided.

With the faith and calling the Lord placed in our hearts, we sent out a mission support letter to friends in Jesus Christ and partners. However, even just two weeks ago, the needed funds had still not been fully raised. Some people kindly advised us not to push ourselves too hard. Yet, together with the students, we chose to hold on to obedience and faith in God and sent out a second mission support letter.

In a truly wonderful way, God heard those prayers and opened the way for us. Many who received the letter responded with generous support and a shared love for the Gospel. Through this grace, we are now able to join the mission team and will be traveling with the students to Puerto Rico for our spring break mission trip from March 14 (Saturday) to March 21 (Saturday).

We want to express our deep gratitude to all of you who have prayed for us and supported this mission. Because of your prayers and love, we are able to begin this mission journey together.

Before we depart, we would like to share a few prayer requests for our team.

Puerto Rico Mission Team Prayer Requests

First, please pray that Gyeongseon and I will be able to train and care for the students well. Pray that God will give us strength so we will not grow weary during the mission, and that He will protect the health and safety of every team member. Please also pray that as we live and serve together, we will understand and love one another so that the love of Jesus Christ will overflow within our team.

Second, please pray that God will give us boldness and wisdom as we share the Gospel with local students. Pray that the students who hear the Gospel will be transformed by the Word and love of Jesus Christ, and that through their lives new seeds of spiritual revival may begin to grow.

Third, please pray that we will work together in unity with the local campus ministry teams through the Holy Spirit, and that this mission will become a meaningful time for the Kingdom of God. We also hope that our mission work will bring encouragement and support to the local ministry teams.

During this mission week, outreach will take place on several campuses:

  • University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras

  • University of Puerto Rico at Bayamón

  • UAGM Gurabo Campus (campus outreach and Easter event)

  • University of Puerto Rico – Cayey Campus

Please pray that God will lead us to students who have hearts ready for Him, and that through them the tree of the Gospel will grow and bear fruit.

Finally, please pray that the students participating in this mission will develop a heart for God’s nations through this experience. We hope this will be a precious time when some may even discover a calling toward mid-term or long-term missions.

Just as it says in Joshua 4:10, the priests stood in the middle of the Jordan until the work of the Lord was completed. In the same way, we step into this mission journey trusting in what God will accomplish. Please continue to partner with us in prayer so that our team may faithfully carry out this mission and safely cross the path that God has opened before us.

With joyful hearts, we go to the mission field in obedience to the Lord’s command to share the Gospel. When we return, we look forward to sharing with you the stories of what God has done, along with updates from our campus ministry.

Thank you again for your faithful prayers and partnership.
